{Monday Musings With Moriah #3 | Giveaway} Falling for the Bad Boys

Admit it, almost all of us have fallen for the bad boy…I mean fictitiously, of course! The trope is well-written and never overdone, and I’m a sucker, I confess, for a bad boy romance, though I do like to keep mine on the clean side of reading. Though, that’s just my preference. Bad boys are making their way through the NA market, and while I stick almost strictly to YA, it’s impossible to ignore. We all love the bad boys. We have for a long time and always will.

It’s quite impossible to articulate my love for Jessa Morano…sigh. I’m #TeamJess forever and will be bingeing the Gilmore Girls remake to see that leather jacket and gorgeous smirk. Below, besides when he admitted to Rory that he WROTE A BOOK FOR HER, is one of my favorite scenes with Jess.

And…just because…

Next up, we have Jace Wayland. Or is it Herondale? Maybe Lightwood? Wait…Morgenstern? It takes a while for Jace to find himself, but I’ve loved him from the beginning. No guy will ever measure up to the Jace in my head, but Jamie Campbell Bower did quite well with that accent of his.

Oh, my, my, my…Aaron Warner…just thinking about this guy makes me happy! Talk about bad boy? He started out the series as the villain! I give all my heart to Warner, and by book two I was totally shipping him and Juliette. What do you mean you haven’t read the Shatter Me trilogy! What. Are. You. Waiting. For?!?

I think I’m in need of a reread of the last two books in the series, purely because of Warner!

  1. Sam

I can never pick favorites, but a recent, and very notable bad boy has to be Rhysand from the ACOTAR series.

  2. Debra Guyette

I have many favorites and am not sure who would be considered a bad boy. Roarke from In Death maybe

  3. Megan

My favorite bad boy is still a tie between Rhysand and Oz from Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry, love love love!

  4. Rachel

    Jace wayland
From the immortal instruments city of bones
And and not to bad to look at ??

  5. Nikki Johnstone

Jace wasn’t quite bad boy enough for me, Cam (Fallen) and Patch (Hush Hush) were a little more bad boyish for me in the YA genre. As for the rest of the make belief world out there, had to say that that Tig was a very bad boy I liked to watch in SOA.

sorry can’t think of one right now, haven’t read anything lately

Have you read Abbi Glines’s UNTIL FRIDAY NIGHT? West Ashby is the bad boy turned good (a little of the good boy just pretending to be bad, which is why I loveeeeee him!) You should check it out! :)

  7. Meredith Miller

I don’t really have a favorite. Love to read about them though!

  8. Shannon Coley

Oh my gosh! Reading that excerpt from the Shatter Me series makes me want to re-read it! And I can’t wait for the new Gilmore Girls! So excited!

    • Moriah

I know, right?! I adored Warner! And yes, GILMORE GIRLS! I’m itching to see Jess again (not Dean so much. Haha)

        • Moriah

Tristan! I loved him and was sad to see him go. I always thought there was so much potential there that wasn’t being explored. Maybe he represented Rory’s future. First Jess, then Logan – he was kind of a combination. Realistically speaking, he probably had to go off to shoot ONE TREE HILL, for which I will be forever grateful. :)

          • Shannon Coley

Me too! I loved One Tree Hill! Chad Michael Murray was definitely swoon worthy! He also had a stint on Dawson’s Creek, which he was absolutely adorable in as well!

    • Moriah

They’re not for everyone. I refuse to believe that the boys in books are not a realistic goal. Bad boy with a secret heart of gold? Maybe he’ll show up eventually!

    • Moriah

At least I know I’m not the only one who loves those blonde curls of his and that smart mouth. :)

Jericho Barrons from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series, Reyes Farrow from Darynda Jones’ Charlie Davidson series, and Daemon and Lucivar from Anne Bishop’s Black Jewels series.
