Goodreads Summary

WHOMP! An energetic young dinosaur figures out her own way to give a kiss in the latest from the creator of the Caldecott Honor–winning Interrupting Chicken.
For newly hatched dinosaur Dinah, the world is an exciting place. There is so much to see and do. She tries this — STOMP! And she tries that — CHOMP! Then she sees a kiss and knows just what she wants to try next. Who can she kiss? And after a few disastrous attempts, can she figure out how to give someone a kiss without whomping, chomping, or stomping them first? Young children will chuckle and cheer when Dinah finds just the right creature for her dinosaur kisses in this funny new picture book from David Ezra Stein.

Dinah has just hatched into the huge world!  She is ready to make her mark by STOMPing around, CHOMPing around and WHOMPing around.  She interacts with the first thing she sees and takes action, quick.  Then she sees something that she has never seen before, a kiss.  Something so simple, yet so sweet, takes over her thoughts and she wants a little kiss of her own.   There are even moments when her actions gets her in a tiny little bit of trouble.  You’ll just have to read this short little picture book to see what happens.

David Stein has created a quick read for emerging readers and little ones.  The figurative language stands out with the enlarged and bold text.  The pictures are perfect for the storyline and the pages give even little hands enough support for handling.  In looking at the author’s website, he has many other books published, that I can’t wait to check out.  I know a precious little girl that just turned 1 and guess what she’s getting, Dinosaur Kisses for her birthday!  The perfect little book, for any personal library.
